Omar Quiñones

(1952-2007) 
Born in 1952 in Old San Juan. Begins studies at the University of Puerto Rico, continued on the Old School of Fine Arts Institute of Puerto Rican Culture and eventually he studied with teachers Fran Cervoni, Ernesto Torres and Juan Alvarez O'Neill, from 1967 to 1972. 
During that time and until 1976 worked in the design, illustration and LAYOUT for different private and governmental entities (Caribbean Gulf Petroleum, Integrated Marketing and Advertising Systems, in the Coastal Zone Program of the National Oceanographic Administration in the Department of Natural Resources) to devote himself to painting and silk screen print. 
He has founded and worked, among others, the following workshops: Blondet, Cupey (with Jorge Esteban Mendoza and Antommarchi) Carraizo (own shop), and from 1984 to 1986, collaborates in the Arts Workshop with maestro Eliasim Orion Cross . Then formed his own workshop in Puerto Nuevo and after working for several companies and galleries, passes serve as poster instructor, and printer emplanador Graphic Arts Workshop Cultural Activities Program at the University of Puerto Rico. It is a founding member Prisma-Study Workshop with teachers Eliasim Cruz and Joaquin Reyes. Currently works in his own workshop in the Workshop Antommarchi. 
His work has been published and it has participated in various exhibitions in Puerto Rico, Hartford, New York, Boston, Florida, California, Hawaii, Cuba, Santo Domingo, Washington DC, Brazil, Paris, France, Switzerland, Sydney and Amsterdam.
