Julio César Díaz was born in Patillas, Puerto Rico in 1944. Was raised in Bayamón where he studied up to the University of Puerto Rico. There he began to study sculpture in the Department of Fine Arts under the tutelage of Luisa Geigel, George Warreck and José Buscaglia. This was assistant and he attributes his determination to make its concentration in sculpture.
